TAPE PLAYER

Tape Player

TACTICAL INTELLIGENCE & STRATEGY

The Tape Player is an electronics-focused container typically found in high-tech or controlled interior spaces such on maps like Stella Montis and Spaceport. Visually, it appears as a tape covered with a lid, sitting on top of a console or panel. Since they are niche and not so common, they can be easy to skip over as you might mistake it for an ordinary object rather than a container. This is an instant-open container with no breach requirement, making it quick and completely safe to loot. You can grab it on the move with zero commitment, which is always valuable in high-risk areas where stopping can get you killed. The loot pool is very narrow and electronics-focused, primarily consisting of basic electrical crafting materials and recyclables. Common drops include Wires, Metal Parts, and occasional niche components like Fried Motherboards. These items are useful for crafting and certain projects, but they are generally low-to-mid tier and lack strong resale value or high-impact upgrades. Unlike broader containers, the Tape Player does not offer much upside. There are no meaningful high-tier spikes. No weapons, blueprints, or valuable RNG hits to justify going out of your way for it. Its role is purely supplemental, providing small amounts of electrical materials to support crafting progression. Low priority, but free value. Since there is no breach and no risk, it is worth looting if it is directly in front of you. However, it is never worth going out of your way for, and it should not be prioritized over stronger containers. Treat it as background loot. It is quick, safe, and mildly useful, but nothing you should plan around. Don't feel bad if you give it a SKIP!
