The Metal Crate is one of the most sector-dependent containers in the game. It requires a long, loud breach animation, the same high-exposure commitment as cracking a container like the Car Hood, so whether it's worth cracking open depends almost entirely on where you are on the map and your health. In the right sectors, it's excellent. In the wrong ones, you're making noise for trash. The pool spans an enormous range. The high-value end includes Advanced Electrical Components, Industrial Battery, Industrial Charger, and Explosive Compound as solid mid-to-high tier crafting materials that justify a breach on their own. Fine Wristwatch, Red Coral Jewelry, Music Box, Music Album, and Poster of Natural Wonder are the strong valuables pulls. Medium and Simple Gun Parts, Steel Spring, Rubber Pad, Industrial Magnet, Magnet, and Polluted Air Filter round out the practical crafting tier and decent recyclables. The weaker end of the pool is where sector dependency really matters. Rusted Bolts, Rusted Tools, Ripped Safety Vest, Plastic Parts, Metal Parts, Rubber Parts, Light Bulb, Rope, Deflated Football, Dart Board, Dog Collar, Cat Bed, Humidifier, and Very Comfortable Pillow are the filler and low-tier pulls you're more likely to see in other containers. Not worthless, but not worth a loud breach in a hot zone. Could be good if you need the niche Scrappy/Project/Quest items like the Cat Bed or Humidifer, but there are better, more guaranteed sources for such items. Beyond the base pool, Metal Crates can drop Weapons, Quick-Use items, Keys, and Blueprints, which puts them firmly in the top tier of containers when the sector is right. Found across damn-near every single sector, covering virtually every map in the game, Metal Crates are everywhere. The tactical call is always the same: is this sector likely to pull from the high-value end of the pool, and is the area clear enough to breach safely? In zones like Gradiose Apartments, expect high-tier valuables and possibly other gear. But for areas like Security Wing in Blue Gate, expect lower tier crafting materials. It is just entirely dependent on what you need, where you are, and if you want to take the off-chance of receiving a Quick Use item, Weapon, Mod, or Key. Learn your sectors. A Metal Crate in the right place is one of the best loot stops on the map. In the wrong place, it's just noise.
